Chief Legal Counsel for bank in NYC (retained search)

Responsibilities:

•Create and adopt policies and procedures designed to insure that the organization and its employees comply with required laws and regulations.
•Administer policies and procedures.
•Investigate compliance issues and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries or examinations.
•Train employees on compliance topics and best practices.
•Provide leadership and direction on regulatory and ethical business conduct.
•Partner with management with respect to strategic issues.

Qualifications:

•Juris Doctor Degree.
•Member of the New York State Bar Association and licensed to practice law in New York State.
•Approximately 10-15 years of experience with a Bank, Investment Bank, or regulatory agency preferred.
•Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing foreign banking operations.
•Expert judgment and decision making skills.
