Title: Research Associate

Description:
Jefferies Investment Research is seeking an Associate in the Biotechnology sector for one of its equity research teams. In this position, you will be responsible for research activities in support of the Senior Analyst coverage; these include conducting due diligence on biotechnology products, attending industry and medical conferences, conducting physician surveys, creating financial models, writing industry/company reports, servicing institutional and retail clients, and participating in company meetings.

Qualifications:

Team is seeking an individual who at minimum has a solid science background, including coursework at the university level and familiarity with fundamental concepts from biology and chemistry, and at least some Wall Street (ideally in equity research) or industry business development experience (biotech or pharma). The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and detail-oriented team player, with strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. A strong interest in the equity markets is essential.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Interesting specialized experience (e.g., patent law, medicine, laboratory research, clinical trial experience, statistics knowledge) is welcome.
